Did you ever experience procrastination? We all have one or the other time! Procrastination is success's number one killer. It is the most common single state that keeps people from taking action Knowing that an important task is at hand, you keep putting it off. Have you ever had to start working on a project, but have you continued to do everything else that would delay the start? You cleaned your desk, got a drink of water, checked emails, walked around and finally said, ' I think tomorrow I'll do it!Have you felt totally motivated to get started on a project yet again? A time when you're just sitting down and doing it right away? I think we know this situation rarely occurs, it never happens in times when we need to do something. We are creating our motivation and procrastination states. We have to understand that we use our physiology and internal re-presentation to create completely different states. Once we understand this, when we need to, we will be able to change, disrupt, and switch states. You used your anatomy in a particular way when you procrastinated. Your breathing may have been slow and shallow. Your shoulders were droopy, your eyes looked down, and you probably flaccided your facial muscles. What about your re-presentation internally? You probably saw images of yourself having a hard time, feeling stressed and irritated. In the most weary and bored tone of life, you probably said to yourself, "Do I have to do this now? Can I do it later?" How do we create motivation? A question we have to ask ourselves, how did we create that when we are in a motivated state, take action and fulfill our tasks? Probably, our physiology was different. We stood differently, breathed differently, and walked differently. We probably re-presented the mission in our minds very differently. We saw each other get results, have fun and do things effortlessly. We were probably saying, "do it now!" "Let's get it done!" in a voice that was more excited, pitched higher. Note, there is hardly any deliberate control of our nations. With the goal of regulating our environments, we do not actively alter our physiology nor do we monitor our inner re-presentations. Instead, our minds are allowed to run on autopilot causing us to lose control over our own lives, resulting in disappointing results we are not to be satisfied with. Now that we are conscious that states of motivation and procrastination are entirely created by us, it is our responsibility to learn and take responsibility for our behavior and inner expression, leading us to achieve the greater results that we seek.
