It is an essential source of information to supplement Major Hodson's four volumes, Officers of the Bengal Army 1758-1834. Many families of British origin had ancestors who served in the Bengal Army of the East India Company, later the Indian Army, and this work will be of interest to them as well as to military historians, military collectors, and genealogists.
