In The Seer, fourth volume of the Tales of Earden, newly embellished with 20 pen and ink illustrations by the author, we find Aolwynd's children, like flotsam tossed upon a warring sea. Jemson and Jors serve in opposite armies. Her little daughter Brilliana has powers far beyond her control which she must learn to wield and Aolwynd herself is wanted for murdering the high priestess of Saels. Lord Boru, and her husband Jem are both far away, and cannot help her, victims of a war neither created. In the palace of Guardia, Lord Faolan, Boru's brother and Tanner, his best friend are imprisoned beneath the palace in 'The Dragon's' belly, by the power-hungry General Rute. Unquiet spirits, both human and animal, witches, spells and prophesies churn everyone's lives, including the voracious Princess Jermaine. Lost children, re-united lovers, schemers and heroes all chased by their fates as war comes to Earden. And of course, Monk, the courageous crow, follows his friend Arius even to war.
