Reseña del libro "The Flight of the Eagle: or how I learned to fly (en Inglés)"

"Memory has no joy; it is only the remembrance of something which created joy. Memory in itself has no joy. There is joy, the immediate reaction to the beauty of a tree; and then the memory comes in and destroys that joy." Jiddu Krishnamurti Set in Bangalore during the late 2000s, when the forces of liberalization and globalization had started to show their impact but the world was still not as connected as it is today. This is a story of rediscovering oneself through forgotten friendship. Abhilash has come to believe that life only gets gloomier with time. Living in Bangalore, far away from home and cut away from friends, he has sealed himself from creating any more memories. Coincedently, he meets an old friend who is set to become a professional painter, what Abhilash had aspired all his life. This pushes him further in the pit of despair. But at the same time, this rekindled friendship slowly walks him to a different vantage point. Would he be able to appreciate a newer point of view in life? Or would he fall further into the darkness? This is the story of trials and tribulations of a generation that was the first one to experience effects of economic liberalisation. While it brought immense opportunities of prosperity, liberalisation also had profound social and cultural impact. This was the first generation in India to embrace a nomadic lifestyle. While their parents were used to a rather settled life, they moved from one city to another, from one job to another and from one relationship to another. Life as an adult to them was no where close to what they had imagined as children.
