The Book of Clifford is not about a dog but a man now in his mid-sixties who is living life to the fullest. He has over a thousand stories of his life and antics as a young boy growing up in South Texas. His community of Hufsmith, Texas, just north of Houston was a typical small community, and during his youth, his freewheeling days of fun and laugher with his family and friends are bound to bring a smile on many faces. He tells the stories as an adult about his life as a child through adulthood. He has mentioned often that his stories are the kind of stories that you never told your momma until you were an adult because Momma always thought he was such an angel when his hair was really covering his devilish little horns. His stories are short and easy to read, and as many people have told him, he writes like people talk. It is safe reading for kids, and adults will shake their head and recollect their own days of life in a simpler time. Men will understand and chuckle, and most moms would never believe their own sons would do some of the things in Clifford's stories. The book can be read in one sitting or simply used from day to day for a short laugh.
