This is an un-official account of the last Vietnamese rebellion against Chinese rule under the Minh Dynasty. The event took place in the 14th Century with Le Loi, the founder and first Emperor of Vietnamese Le Dynasty, taking arm against China. After 10 years of bloody rebellion, Le Loi and his supporters successfully ended Chinese rule in Vietnam. At the beginning of the rebellion, a young former princess from the House of Tran, Mai Lan, helped Nguyen Trai, Le Loi's chief strategist, to rally Vietnamese support for Le Loi. This support which many years later was the caused for one of the most infamous secrete trial resulted in the execution of Nguyen Trai and three generations of his family and relatives. Readers who have read Tao Loan I should read the romantic story of Princess Mai Lan. Vietnamese history is full of repetitive of similar events.
