Something I have noticed over the years is that when reading about diets and exercises topics the authors tend to operate on the assumption that you already know what they are talking about. You will run into words and concepts that you don't fully understand. This can lead you to misunderstanding what the author is trying to convey to you and cause you to apply the information incorrectly, or feel lost. All diet books and programs claim to have the secret to weight loss, if this was true then the country wouldn't be in an obesity epidemic and you would not be reading this right now. This book doesn't claim to solve your weight issues by providing some restrictive diet plan or specific exercise routines. Rather, this book shows you how to solve your weight loss problem through education. It teaches you the basics of the body's functions, weight loss, nutrition and physical activity; then builds on these topics giving you a more advanced understanding of how the body works and how to maintain weight loss. You then take what you have learned and apply it to fit in with your specific life. Following a diet plan that someone else created might work for you in the short term but in the long term you could find it hard to stick to. My goal is to teach you everything you need to know in order to create your own nutritional plan that fits with your likes and dislikes. The key to long term success is matching your diet plans to you personally. You will find this book very unique; it is broken down into short 3-5 minute daily reads completed over 182 days (6 months). This allows you to take what you have learned and apply it to your life, making slow easily sustainable changes. On average diets will fail because they force you to follow habits that are not your own, this book doesn't teach you how to diet; it teaches you how to slowly adjust your habits to promote a lifestyle change leading to long term weight loss success. Each day complex topics like nutrition are broken down into easily understandable sections. Providing this content in brief readings prevents you from getting information overload and losing key concepts in the process, as well as promoting gradual changes in your life. Follow along each day and commit to applying what you have learned and you could find long term weight loss success!
