Reseña del libro "Seya, The Woman By The Sea (en Inglés)"
Seya, The Woman By The Sea will take you to a time in the nineteen-sixties in Guyana when mud stoves were used for cooking, donkey-carts for transportation, kerosene oil lamps for lighting, and when chastity reigned supreme. They meet at an unnamed seaside village, two outcasts of society, an enigmatic teenager, Seya, who was rumoured by the villagers to be a mad woman, and a young carpenter, Suresh, mistreated by a grieving stepmother, Manjula. Adding to the story is the mysterious Mister Gareth, who was said to be the lover of Seya, and, also, an old woman alleged to be a fire-rass-a blood sucker, Neighbour Bertha. The lives of these characters intertwine and bring out raw emotions of human pain and pleasure, as the story delves into the vileness of ostracism, stigmatism, and slander.
