Pocahontas is everyone's sweetheart thanks to a multiplicity of books and movies. Though little of detail is actually known of her life, this has not hampered her from becoming larger than life through legend, myth and romanticizing which has created a personality that everyone admires. But what happens when a person fourteen generations removed from the Indian princess discovers they are one of her descendants? The interest increases exponentially. A desire to not only know more of Pocahontas, but also the generations of family tree members who stand between the person and their famous ancestor. Such is the case with the family involved in this volume. Jean Engeler Bachman not only wanted to know more for herself, but also to pass on what she discovered to the generations succeeding her. This book is a quick summary of information, not just about Pocahontas and the other characters from colonial Jamestown, there are also pithy stories of some fascinating characters in the family tree; such persons as the Bollings, the Combses and the Eversoles. It also contains a detailed listing of those direct descendants between Pocahontas of Virginia and the Engelers of Arkansas.
