The Bass Rock is an iconic island, the plug of an extinct volcano, and it's home to the world's largest single-island gannet colony of over 150,000 birds. There's a selection of pictures from the Isle of May, its lighthouses and birds including puffins, arctic terns and kittiwakes. From the Law behind North Berwick, 613ft high with a whale's jawbone at the top, there are spectacular views across to Fife and up the Forth Estuary towards Edinburgh and beyond to the three bridges including the new Queeensferry crossing.
