All the whimsy of a children's book and all the reality of how chickens are treated before they reach our dinner tables. Excerpt: ".....Then came the day we watched Food Inc., and our stomachs turned. We didn't eat meat for two weeks after seeing it. This is when we began buying meat from reliable farmers. It was then that I found a 2007 special he filmed called Fowl Dinners - a gala dinner party that demonstrated the reality of how chickens live and die before reaching the grocery store. Suddenly, I remembered a story my parents had invented for me when I was little. It was about a chicken named Pickin who got into a spot of trouble. And my mind started turning.
