When that boy shows up in Chynna's kitchen, she has to decide whether to help him hide or turn him over to his uncle and aunt. Her decision will shock everyone and put Chynna in danger. Outside in the storm, trying to keep her wheelchair from turning over, with rain pelting her face and wind threatening to rip her backpack out of her arms, Chynna will wish she had been honest with her mom. But it will be too late, then, and Chynna will have to ride out the storm in a strange house with only two friends for company.
