Today, Africa is out of breath and sick of itself. It has lagged behind in the concert of nations, due to the sheer scale of its underdevelopment. Most African countries are either underdeveloped or in the process of developing. This position makes Africa fragile. As a result, Africa has neither economic nor military power, let alone cultural power. This flaw pushes Africa into another place, making it an entangled continent, with a history of repeated cycles of dependence stretching back just over half a century. The keystone of this enterprise is the fact that Africans have remained citizens of "countries on the way" to democratization, development, industrialization and emergence. We must therefore ask ourselves why Africa, heir to brilliant civilizations, with enormous economic and ecological potential and a large population, remains voiceless and powerless in the contemporary world.
