Just nine months after his marriage, the last thing that Daniel expected was to hear that his wife was leaving him. In the novella, his wife and her partner are kidnapped and murdered. Then is real life, both of them suddenly disappear, .leaving Daniel as the only suspect with a motive to harm them both. When Catherine and Jake come round, both of them have trouble recalling the events which have left them tied up and at the hands of a mysterious man dressed all in black. They are informed that only one of them will leave the room, but to do so, they must kill the other one. Then the brutal torture begins and escalates quickly. The question is, how much pain can they endure, before one of them finally cracks?
