This book was written for elementay school students, with the goal of developing the problem solving skills necessary to excel in school and on standardized tests. Some students are naturally gifted in mathematics and others seem to struggle with it all of their lives. The main difference between these two types of students is their level of mathematical maturity. Although there is no single agreed upon definition of mathematical maturity, I like to define it as "one's ability to analyze, understand, and communicate mathematics." Practicing with this book will result in a strong foundation in deductive reasoning, analytical thinking, and solving problems "outside the box." You will be trained to think quickly, carry out procedures without making careless errors, notice details within a short period of time, and detect inconsistencies. In addition you will be able to apply what you learn here to new situations as they arise. This book contains verbal, visual, and numerical questions involving numbers, processes, and tables.
